BRANCHES LIFESTYLE SUPPORT offers Supported Independent Living (SIL) services to adults with an intellectual and/or physical disability in the Brisbane area, though most of our houses are in the Eastern and Bayside regions.

We assist people to live in their own homes, sometimes by themselves, but often sharing a house with one or two others. The support we give is based around doing whatever an individual needs done to help them independently move through their daily life. We encourage people to do as much as they can for themselves, and adapt our assistance according to their capabilities. Developing those capabilities over time is also very important.

Some common areas of support are:

  • management of domestic tasks;
  • skill-building;
  • enabling communication;
  • personal care;
  • working towards having a fulfilling life within the community;
  • fostering and maintaining relationships with family, friends and others;
  • management of medical care;
  • educational and vocational development;
  • behaviour support.

Some of our people already have their own homes, and may even be seeking suitable co-tenants to share with them. Some who use our service either apply for public housing or rent a property in the private rental sector. Clients then cover the cost of rental payments and all utilities.

Whether living in their own home, public housing or a private rental the people we support always assist with the selection of co-tenants, with compatibility being very important for everyone.

Donate to the Cause

Imagine our clients learning to prepare food and coffees, serving in our community garden, and continuing to upskill in an environment where they feel valued, and proud of what they create. This vision is at the heart of our 2026 fundraising goal.
We’re working towards purchasing a small coffee and food van that our clients will help operate (think 3–4 people working inside). While the van won’t be used commercially, it will play a meaningful role at our internal events and within our Branches community.
This project will offer clients opportunity to develop practical skills, grow their confidence, and connect more deeply with the people around them. Most importantly, it opens the door to experiences that celebrate their independence and ability.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. Your generosity helps us create new and meaningful opportunities for our clients and brings dreams like this one closer to reality.

In 2026 we are raising funds to purchase a coffee van for our clients to operate. Our aim is to use this as an outlet to upskill our clients and help them feel valued in their community
