BRANCHES LIFESTYLE SUPPORT offers Supported Independent Living (SIL) services to adults with an intellectual and/or physical disability in the Brisbane area, though most of our houses are in the Eastern and Bayside regions.
We assist people to live in their own homes, sometimes by themselves, but often sharing a house with one or two others. The support we give is based around doing whatever an individual needs done to help them independently move through their daily life. We encourage people to do as much as they can for themselves, and adapt our assistance according to their capabilities. Developing those capabilities over time is also very important.
Some common areas of support are:
- management of domestic tasks;
- skill-building;
- enabling communication;
- personal care;
- working towards having a fulfilling life within the community;
- fostering and maintaining relationships with family, friends and others;
- management of medical care;
- educational and vocational development;
- behaviour support.
Some of our people already have their own homes, and may even be seeking suitable co-tenants to share with them. Some who use our service either apply for public housing or rent a property in the private rental sector. Clients then cover the cost of rental payments and all utilities.
Whether living in their own home, public housing or a private rental the people we support always assist with the selection of co-tenants, with compatibility being very important for everyone.
Donate to the Cause
Our latest fundraising venture is providing a heated pool for our clients.
We have the pool and hoist, now we want to install a heater and pool cover to reduce the costs of our clients accessing external weekly therapies and provide more opportunity and flexibility at our own venue. Currently used for six months of the year, it would be great to have an all year round opportunity for fun and therapy.

Donate to our Hub
Our COMMUNITY HUB is open and running. However, we still have so much to do to get this space running at its full potential. We are currently seeking all donations towards finishing off the Community Hub garden.
